What is INNOVATION ?

I am a Software Principal Engineer at Dell Technologies and have been working since 2016. My specializations are “system designing” and “design thinking“, which allows me to dig into my creative reservoir and fuel my innovative passions.

What exactly is Innovation?

There are gaps or white spaces in the market where new products or services can radically make a difference to consumers or businesses while creating financial benefits for the creators. Futuristic ideas that are out of the box, help to fill the gaps with Innovation. Innovation is recognized as the cornerstone of growth and prosperity across industries as diverse as medicine, tourism, and technology.

It involves applying concepts of brainstorming, ideation, product development research, or similar techniques to tap into creative thinking and test concepts within your company and its market. Such a process may also be instrumental to your long-term strategy since a strong product pipeline is imperative for continued success, and after working with several tech stacks & with around 6+ years of industry experience I am sharing my ideas & a guide towards innovation & research on my various social media platforms. In 2016 I started my innovation journey with a lot of dreams. I dreamt about hitting a home run, I dreamt about making that century, a reality and I made sure that each day I got a step closer to my dream. Great innovators like Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, and Ratan Tata inspired me to make this dream a reality.

In 2019, I had only 16+ patent applications and it took me 3 years to get them. Today I stand with 150+ patent applications and 30+ granted patents. I had gone through the journey of 6 years to reach this point. That was my vision and this is my reality.

It took me 3 years to reach from 0 to 16 patent applications and another 3 years to get 125 more patent applications.

Out of 365 days, you will achieve success on only 1 odd day whereas the rest of 364 days will teach you to be resilient. What matters is your preparation to face the hurdles.

People often ask me, how do I come up with new innovations? I talk to people, identify gaps and problems and come up with solutions. Then I implement those solutions with newer perspectives and innovation happens along the way! This journey will be tumultuous yet enriching and rewarding.

There is no secret to successful innovation. You have to try and fail, having to fail fast is your strategy. You should understand the industry and pivot as soon as it is required without being emotionally attached to the invention. You should be able to convert your thought into an idea and the fire in your belly will surely lead you to successful innovation.

Everyone in the universe dreams with open eyes but a few make efforts to fulfill them. With an expectation to live my dreams, I overcame my failures and got what I really wished for that too in a very short span of time.

Innovation, no matter how tiny or large, has the potential to transform the world forever. Uncle Ben once remarked, “With great power comes great responsibility,” and it is up to the creator to decide whether he wants to make millions or transform the world.

An essential element for nurturing creativity is to have the right mindset. Having the right psychology offers a limitless pace to turn ideas into meaningful innovations. In my opinion, no matter how big or small the idea of innovation is, the correct psychology behind the idea can only be analysed after thinking about what good can come out of this innovation, will it help in the betterment of society, will it help people to live a better lifestyle and lead to a better future.
